Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has decided to withdraw his presidential nomination and the SJB will support SLPP MP Dullas Allahapperuma in the Presidential election in Parliament tomorrow.
"For the greater good of my country that I love and the people I cherish I hereby withdraw my candidacy for the position of President. SJB Sri Lanka and our alliance and our opposition partners will work hard towards making Dullas Allahapperuma victorious," Premadasa said.

This is one of the wisest and patriotic move made by SP. Thanks and congratulations! All of Lankans would acknowledge and appreciate this decision and will go into history books. I believe soon AKD will follow suit although it would be just short of their expectation, but too early to tell either way.

Good move. Dalla/Sajith is a good combination acceptable to all. Ranil Rajapakse should be defeated at all costs. Otherwise will be confirmed as a banana republic among the international community.
