Rev. Fr. Jeewantha Peiris who became an active participant in the “GotaGoGama” protest was today released on bail after being surrendered before Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court.

Fr. Jeewantha Peiris was ordered to be released on two sureties of Rs.500,000 by Magistrate Thilina Gamage in connection with two cases filed against him by Fort Police and Slave Island Police.

The Fort Police and Slave Island Police had filed two separate B reports against Fr. Jeewantha Peiris over two incidents relating to the Galle Face protests.

Fr. Jeewantha Peiris has also filed a Fundamental Rights petition in Supreme Court seeking an order preventing police and tri-forces from arresting him regarding Galle Face protest incidents. President's Counsel Rienzie Arsekularatne with counsel Udara Muhandiramge appeared for Fr. Jeewantha Peiris. (Lakmal Sooriyagoda)

If the Police file action against Fr. Peiris, how about Johnstan, Nishantha and Namal who were the main culprits caused damages for innocent blood, however we will punish them soon.
