COVID and dengue have nothing to do with LTTE!!!! Maybe education minister should think wisely, if he can, and declare at least 2 weeks of holidays. Better be safe than sorry. Arrangements must be in place for students to study online or at least have lessons on TV. When one sees the amount of students attending tuition classes and the number of tuition centres, one will wonder if there's ANY teaching that is taking place in schools, even under normal circumstances.. It's truly pathetic! Tuition classes should be banned up to o'level at least.

In reply to Roisin: I'm not from a village. And most people who comment are also probably not from villages either. But that doesn't mean that people don't understand the difficulties of other human beings! In villages there are community centres (praja shalawa) and they could install a TV there for children who don't have electricity or a TV at home, to come and follow lessons. Then children don't need to climb trees in order to study. In this day and time, almost everybody, whether in a village or in a town, has access to a phone!!! If there's a will there's a way...
