It was revealed that a total of 82,194 vehicles have been assigned to the government institutions, including Ministries, State Enterprises, Provincial Councils and Local Government Institutions.
This was disclosed following a report submitted including the details of the vehicles belonging to government establishments to the attention of the Cabinet Ministers by the Prime Minister, in the capacity of the Economic Policies and Plan Implementation Minister.
According to the report, there are 82,194 vehicles under government institutions, Ministries, State Enterprises, Provincial Councils and Local Government Institutions. 76,661 vehicles are in running condition while 5,533 vehicles are unroadworthy.
Out of the vehicles under running condition, 33,931 are under the ownership of government institutions, including the Ministries. 26,395 vehicles under State Enterprises and 16,335 under the Provincial Councils and Local Government Institutions.
Approximately 8,500 senior officials in state institutions have been granted permission to use their private vehicles for official transport purposes, with payment of monthly allowances.

Please put all these vehicles in to one pool and use an app like UBER , which any government officer can book a vehicle from the pool . Innovative way to maximum use of resources

On top of this how many how many luxury duty free car permits have been issued to mps only to be sold by them. What a loss for the country of tax payer's money.

The health sector workers should be given proper transport facilities. Making them travel in over crowded buses is not fair. Even some good companies can come forward to offer additional vehicles for this purpose. The MPs can donate some of their vehicles to the health sector workers to travel.

I have seen a state vehicle assigned for an event parked under a tree from 7 am in the morning till way past midnight with the engine running and AC on. How long they will last and the subsequent maintenance will be very much a question?
