Watched it live. The speaker at the very beginning read out a statement with regards to standing orders and its adherence also that he would implement same to the letter. This was in response to what transpired at the last sitting of parliament. No sooner parliament was convened and both Gayantha and Ravi strayed from standing orders and the speaker disallowed it. The opposition wants to continue as thugs as they did when in governance. They must he put right and adhere to parliament decorum.

The pacha government acts on the basis of Pachawatte adgenda . They have no knowledge to debate on Middle East crisis , the Pachanayake will wait until Pachawatte office comes up with some strategy to use tge Middle East crisis as an excuse for economic downturn. These pacha members only know how to blame others.

Members of Parliament (MPs) receive a daily allowance of Rs. 2,500 for attending each parliamentary meeting. This allowance is in ADDITION to their monthly salary and other benefits. They also receive the same allowance for attending committee meetings held on non-sitting days.
