Sexual harassment of female p’mentary employees; external investigation to be conducted

An external investigation is to be conducted into allegations of sexual harassment of some female employees of the parliamentary staff, a source said.   

A request has been made to the parliamentary authorities in this regard.  

Initially, Deputy Secretary General of Parliament Chaminda Kularatne appointed a committee to look into these allegations.  The report of this committee was handed over recently.   Based on its findings, the external investigation will be conducted.   

Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Mujibur Rahuman also requested the Speaker to look into this matter.
