President to visit UAE as next official visit

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake said yesterday he will leave for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as his next official visit to strengthen diplomatic ties with the Middle Eastern region.  

The President told a meeting in Kalutara that he had already received an official invitation from the UAE.  

The President said the government will look into the possibility of importing fuel on government to government agreement which is beneficial to Sri Lanka.  

“The government is engaged in discussions with the UAE Ambassador regarding the import of fuel on a government to government agreement. It is beneficial to Sri Lanka,” he said.
