PC arrested over indecent conduct with schoolgirl behind Presidential Secretariat

Colombo Fort Police have arrested two individuals, including a police constable, on allegations of behaving indecently with a 16-year-old schoolgirl in a forested area behind the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo Fort.  

Police said the arrests were made following information received that the suspects were engaging in indecent conduct in the area on the evening of January 5.  

Those taken into custody include a police constable attached to the Maligawatte Police and a resident of the Gothatuwa Ambagahawaththa area. The schoolgirl involved in the incident has also been taken into police custody and subsequently admitted to the Colombo De Soysa Women’s Hospital for care and observation, police said.  

The two suspects are due to be produced before court, while Colombo Fort Police are continuing investigations into the incident.
