The Jaffna Police are investigating to arrest the four other  suspects after a video went viral showing the assault of a motorcyclist  by a group of intoxicated individuals performing stunts on  three-wheelers and motorcycles in Jaffna city.

Initially, four suspects were arrested and remanded  after being produced in Jaffna Magistrate’s Court on charges of  assaulting and injuring the rider.

The incident occurred on New Year’s Eve when a group of people held a party and engaged in dangerous stunts in the city.

While others protested, the intoxicated group began preparing to attack them.

During that time, a motorcyclist tried to drive in the  middle of it without knowing about this action of the group. At that  time, the group reportedly attacked the rider.

The attack was recorded by another group of youths and handed over to the police, leading to an investigation.
The video quickly went viral on social media. The injured motorcyclist was admitted to Jaffna Teaching Hospital.
Police said they also seized two three-wheelers, two motorcycles, and a van.

Investigations are ongoing to arrest four more suspects wanted over the incident.
