A senior official of the Dehiwala Zoo said the missing Anaconda had been found from another location within 24 hours of the interdiction

A yellow anaconda hatchling which had gone missing from the Dehiwala Zoological Gardens since December 07, was found on Tuesday (16) inside a iron box.
Director General of the Zoological Gardens Department Chandana Rajapakse said the caretaker of Reptile Park had forgotten to shut the box in which it had been under quarantine and that it had slithered away.
He said a team of employees were searching for the snake while an investigation was ongoing. The caretaker of the Reptile Park had been interdicted during the investigation.

He said the yellow anaconda hatchling and six other snakes smuggled into the country had been seized at the Katunayake International Airport and handed over to the Dehiwala Zoo pending investigations.
