CA Sri Lanka’s annual budget seminar today

The highly awaited annual budget seminar, organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka), will be held today featuring top government officials and business leaders, who will share their insights and observations on the government’s budget for 
next year. 


Due to the ongoing COVID-related health guidelines, the seminar will be held on a virtual platform but will feature top speakers including Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal, who will deliver the keynote on ‘Impact of the budget proposals on the economy’, while Treasury Secretary S.R. Attygalle will address the participants on ‘Implementation of the budget proposals’. 


The seminar, which will be offered via Zoom and on the official Facebook page of CA Sri Lanka, will also bring together an exciting line-up of panellists hailing from a cross section of industries, who will share their thoughts on next year’s budget. 


The panellists will include CA Sri Lanka President Manil Jayesinghe, Brandix Group Group Financial Director Hasitha Premarathne, Hemas Maritime Cluster Director Mushin Kitchilan, Saaraketha Holdings Managing Director Prasanna Hettiarachchi and Aitken Spence Hotels Managing Director Susith Jayawickrama.


CA Sri Lanka Taxation Faculty Chairman Sulaiman Nishtar will moderate the session, while BDO Partners Partner Tax Services Sarah Afker will present the budget highlights.
