The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) is contemplating bringing a no-confidence motion against Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, a party senior said today.
SJB General Secretary Ranjith Madumma Bandara told the Daily Mirror that his party has begun discussing the possibility of bringing a no-confidence motion against the incumbent Health Minister.
"We are discussing the move and no final decision has been made on the matter as yet," he said.
Minister Rambukwella has been facing much criticism with regard to procuring of medicines and on the alleged scandals involved in the process. He has also been criticized for not taking action to prevent medical negligence.
A no-confidence motion is given priority when it comes to business of the House once it is handed over to the Speaker.
