In banana republic anything could happen. This phenomenon is nothing new among our bigwigs. All talk and no action is the hallmark of our lawmakers. In other words their rhetoric is always to create an euphoria akin to the Sinhala saying “හක්කේ බුදුරැස්, බොක්කේ දඩමස්". This attitude encourages bad practices among bigwigs. Today our country is bankrupt and economically unsound. SL has been brought to its knees due to this attitude from time immemorial. In the long run, unless we use our hindsight and weak points to correct ourselves, this state of affairs could spell disaster after disaster in every other spheres of administration. In any event, this doesn’t bode well at all.
