State Finance Minister Ranjith Siyamabalapitiya said that at least 150,000 litres of toddy are produced in Sri Lanka daily, out of which 50,000 are produced illegally.
“A tax of Rs. 10 per litre of toddy will be introduced targeting
illicit toddy producers, to increase state revenue,” he said.
