Employees of the Lanka Phosphate Ltd at Eppawala chased away a group of activists representing the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna who visited the premises today. The employees said that they will defend the present chairman of the company who has addressed the long-running issues at the company.
"We have repeatedly requested the likes of Wasantha Samarasinghe to voice our concerns, and to protect this company. But none of them turned up. The present chairman has addressed corruption here and has ensured that operations are running smoothly," one employee said.
