'Aswesuma' list not final - 500,000 applicants rejected State Finance Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya assured that the government's 'Aswesuma' welfare benefit scheme will be given to the most suitable beneficiaries. "From 3.7 million applications, at least 500,000 applications were rejected during the survey, leaving 3.2 million applicants," he said. The final beneficiaries list has not been drafted, the Minister said, adding that there is time for appeals and space for improvement.
