President of the Medical and Civil Rights Professional Association Dr. Chamal Sanjeewa said that a procurement deal is underway to purchase more medical supplies under emergency regulations.
"We have information that the authorities are prepared to order 100,000 lenses under emergency purchases, which would cost us over Rs. 100 million," Dr. Sanjeewa said.
"It is futile to investigate these matters after the purchase is done and funds are wasted," he said.
