Kalana Hewamallika, Chairman, Interpharm (Pvt) Ltd and Gamma Pharmaceuticals (Pvt) Ltd handed over a neonatal/pediatric ventilator, a prime requirement at the Lady Ridgeway Hospital (LRH) to Dr. Duminda Samarasinghe, Pediatric Cardiologist in response to his request, at a recent ceremony.
This high-end ventilator was imported from Switzerland, at a cost of Rs. 6.3 million.
The donation was made spontaneously as a noble gesture of kindness, to be used in babies including neonates who require mechanical ventilation, since there was a lack of neonatal Ventilators at the Pediatric Cardiology unit at LRH.
This is not the first time Interpharm (Pvt) Ltd and Gamma Pharmaceuticals (Pvt) Ltd, engaged in such an activity but they have also been contributing to the Little Hearts fundraising project since 2017 by donating a percentage from the sale of every pediatric product of the company.
Dr. Santhusitha Senadhipathy- Deputy Director, Lady Ridgeway Hospital, Dr. Duminda Samarasinghe - Consultant Pediatric Cardiologist, Dr. Manjula Hewageeganage - Consultant Pediatric Intensivist and the medical staff at Lady Ridgeway Hospital, Colombo, participated at this event with Kalana Hewamallika - Chairman, Vidhira Gunasekara – Marketing & International Business Manager, Sudheera Thittawella, Corporate, Communications and Events Manager and Thilan Vithanage- Field Manager, from Interpharm (Pvt ) Ltd & Gamma Pharmaceuticals (Pvt) Ltd.
