Sri Lanka's U-19 Women's T20 World Cup captain Vishmi Gunaratne has registered her name with the Board of Control for Cricket in India to play in the forthcoming Women's Indian Premier League (WIPL).
The inaugural Women's IPL is likely to be played from March 3 to 26.
The registration for the Women's T20 league 2023 Player Auction was opened on January 14 and Gunaratne has sent her application through Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) within 2 days.
Gunaratne’s father Aruna confirmed having forwarded her application.
"Vishmi is a national player and therefore eligible to quote her reserve price. There were three categories Rs. 30 lakhs, 40 lakhs and 50 lakhs. We have registered her name in the lowest paid option of Rs. 30 lakhs,” her father said on Tuesday.
