The Under 13 Division One cricket tournament final between Royal College and St. Peter’s College played at Ananda Mawatha which ended in a draw resulted in the teams being declared joint champions.
Royal juniors taking first lease of the wicket made a score of 225 for 6 in their allotted overs with Nithesh Jayasinghe making a top score of 51 in 61 balls inclusive of seven boundaries and associating in a 92-run stand for the third wicket with Rasula Madarasinghe.
St. Peter’s juniors in their run chase, helped by a knock of 58 by Hirun Noyar, put on an opening wicket stand of 79 runs and were 124 for 3 when stumps were drawn.
