Opener Lasith Croospulle shone for Sri Lanka ‘A’ on day one of the four-day 2nd unofficial Test match against England Lions played at the Galle International Stadium on Tuesday.

The match was hampered by heavy rain and was called off at 4.00 p.m. with Sri Lanka ‘A’, taking first lease of the wicket, after skipper Nipun Dhananjaya won the toss.

Sri Lanka ‘A’ were on 190 for 3 having faced 44.3 overs which came on the back of an unbeaten quick fire knock of 122 in 109 balls inclusive of 16 boundaries and three sixes by Croospule.

Croospulle was involved in three fruitful partnerships, first for 59 runs with opening partner Nishan Madushka.

He then partnered with Nuwanidu Fernando to put on 93 runs for the second wicket, before an unbroken fourth wicket partnership for 41 runs with Dhananjaya took the hosts to stumps.

The match will be continued today.
