Please stop harassing these poor animals. With Kapilavastu relics being here, why do we need to dress them up, chain them and have people dancing with fire around them?

The Delusion. This need to stop. Please visit the jungles and see these beautiful animals enjoying themselves in the habitats, not in fancy dress parades.

I will tell you why. Elephants have been domesticated
in Asia for a long time. They are used for logging, and in traditional religious activities by the Buddhist and Hindus. The religious activities are cultural because they are not found all over the world. Your lack of tradition amazes me, especially since peraharas in SL go back to the time of the Kings or are you not familiar with the Kandy Perahara where tourist around the world buy tickets as early as a year a head to watch. You must be not Sri Lankan. Anyway, next time you feel like doing some animal rights , help out at The Elephant Orphanage in Pinnawala.

Better than killing a thousands of pigs, chickens and cows for Christmas dinner.

Agree with bigsam. We can change this culture of torturing animals.
