Celebrating is good and essential if that be followed by constructive steps to address the glaring dearth in inequality when selecting, electing and appointing women to key positions. Why not start with measures to have more women representation in parliament and in high government ranks? At the moment, Sri Lanka sits (uncaringly unmoved) at 173rd out of 181 countries with 5.33% share in parliament.
