State oil anointing ceremony held

The annual State Oil Anointing Ceremony was held at 9:04 a.m. today at the Sri Maha Natha Devalaya premises, located within the Sri Dalada Maligawa Square in Kandy, in conjunction with the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.

The ceremony was conducted under the auspices of the Most Venerable Mahanayake Theros of the Malwatta and Asgiri Ubhaya Vihara Chapters of the Maha Viharavansika Syamopali Maha Nikaya, and under the patronage of Health and Mass Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa. It was jointly organised by the Ministry of Health and Mass Media and the Department of Ayurveda.
