Gotabaya Rajapaksa appears before Court of Appeal over arrest petition

Colombo, July 23 (Daily Mirror) - Former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa appeared before the Court of Appeal today (23) to observe proceedings related to a writ petition he has filed seeking an order preventing his arrest and detention.

The Court of Appeal is scheduled to take up the petition for further consideration today. The matter was previously considered for the fourth consecutive day on July 9 before a two-judge bench comprising Court of Appeal President Justice Rohantha Abeysooriya and Justice Sarath Dissanayake. Following the proceedings, further hearings were postponed to today.
