Protect community animals…

Animal welfare organizations and activists staged a protest near the Galle Face Green today, calling on the government to immediately resume spay and neuter programmes and abandon plans for government-sponsored animal shelters and incinerators. The protesters urged authorities to adopt humane, scientifically proven solutions for the management of community animals and wildlife, stressing the need for compassion, responsibility and long-term measures to address animal welfare concerns.
