The traditional 22nd Volkswagen 'Pride of Ownership Drive' was held today. Sponsored by Hilton Colombo and Browns Hotel Group, the event traveled from Colombo to the Thaala Hotel in Bentota. Around 170 participants took part with approximately 50 cars, and prizes were awarded to members. Pix by Kithsiri De Mel

These cars are only having a vintage value. The new cars are technologically advanced and include a lot of safety features. These cars only have thicker steel bodies. These last long because these are made completely with mechanical parts. No electronics involved.

I had 3 srt 7430 Volkswagen car. It is happy to see these cars. When they introduced Volkswagen cars in Ceylon it was priced for Rs 3500/=.
