President Ranil Wickremesinghe visited the Court Lodge Estate, owned by the Udupusellawa Plantation Company in Nuwara Eliya this morning (16) to explore opportunities for the revival of the tourism industry around the picturesque hills of Nuwara Eliya. Notably, the President embarked on this journey by traversing the Pekoe Trail.

Yes, show the tourists where their tea comes from and the slave labour used to produce it. The President seems to be obsessed with tourism. Can’t he see the potential for a manufacturing industry given the competitive ( slave labour) wage structure.

HIS WAY OF DOING POLITICS AS OLD HIS age in politics. Just go around fool people just to to get vote and taking snaps shots with them and once the election is over he disappears in to the thin air. This method is old and well known to the voters who have been fooled for decades. So friend I dont think this time this method will work.

Don’t destroy yourself like this Ranil! Opening street flyovers in the City and going on jolly ride in the guise of promoting tourism in the hills when you should be leading the bond holder debt restructuring discussions that have failed because you are the FM besides being the President! Enjoy Broken Pekoe tea on the Pekoe trail after you have no bigger responsibility. Not now while you are on the last legs of your political career! Do some good to the country at least now and go out like a hero and not a wimp picking up small potatos.

I MUST ADMIT RANIL HAS BRAINS, BUT THE WAY HE IS USING THEM IS DEFINITELY NOT IN THE INTERESTS OF THE COUNTRY AND ITS PEOPLE, THIS IS CLEAR AND VERY EVIDENT TO EVEN THE COMMON MAN ON THE STREET AND IN THE RURAL/VILLAGE AREAS WHERE THEIR EDUCATION IS NOT UPTO COLOMBO, OUTER SKIRTS AND KANDY SCHOOLS. HOWEVER, ALL THESE PRE-ELECTION SHOWS, DECISIONS/APPOINTMENTS HE PUTS ON AND MAKES IS ONLY BRINGING HIM DOWN IN THE EYES OF THE POEPLE. HE IS ONLY A SCAPE GOAT THAT WAS PUT IN PLACE AND GOES ON TO ACT LIKE ONE. HE IS A DISGRACE TO THE COUNTRY AND SHOULD RETIRE BEFORE THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS. IF HE CONTINUES, HE WILL LEAVE BEHIND A LEGACY OF BEING A PUPPET ON A STRING.

It is a disgrace for this president never to have visited these poor tea pickers or to have offered them any real help for their families, but now to appear there purely for election reasons!!! He probably knows almost nothing about the pay and living conditions of these "slave workers", and has never even touched them on a human level, and now he comes and "begs" for their votes! What kind of president, and he wants to lead the country into a better future!? With him, a fair, non-corrupt and socially just society will never become a reality!!! Sri Lanka must find a better, more humane, more compassionate president if the dream of all fair people of a good and happy Sri Lanka is to come true!!!

Mr.Ranil should tell the answer. no good hospital,no School, no transport for the School children,poor sanitation, no houses and more... corrupted Thondaman family living in generation political ideology. same as tamil leaders and singala leaders do with other part of the country. talking rasisim and doing dividing ruling politics. we should come together to change Sri lankan history. long live our people and God bless.
