Police move 500kg heroin for incineration

Nearly 500 kilograms of heroin, seized by the Sri Lanka Navy in two major operations, were transported to Palaviya in Puttalam by police for destruction.

The narcotics will be incinerated at a kiln operated by a cement company in the area, following a directive issued by the High Court upon the conclusion of legal proceedings.

Police said that the heroin was moved under tight security and that the destruction will be carried out in full compliance with the court's order.

No one would know if one packet is missing . Also no one would know if what is inside is actually heroine or just a bunch of old clothes collected or even bread flour. Is there any independent party testing the packets at the site of destruction?
