It is nice for the PM and Minister Bimal to visit the injured in Hospital. Buses that are over 10 years old and/or have completed the life span in mileage must be removed from the road or the owners directed to obtain fitness certificate every 6 months. There have been too many bus accidents and so many lost their lives in the recent past. Those drivers who drive heavy vehicles and public transport must be directed to get drug free and fit to drive certificate from a government doctor every year at a reasonable charge. Unless strict measures are adopted it will be hard to prevent these accidents

The worst road accident in history. Yet, vesak celebrations and tamashas are not toned down.

Hey NPP, please do not use this incident to gain mere political mileage. You are just good at talking gibberish and putting out "lists". That is all you have done for the past six months and that is all you would do for the rest of your tenure.

I travelled from Colombo to Maho by the Rajarata Rejina train. It was one of the most horrible journeys of my life. The train was delayed by one hour. It was completely full at every station. People were packed inside, with no space or comfort for the elderly, children, or women. Why can’t we solve these kinds of issues in our train services? What is lacking here is proper decision-making.

Respect the dead and injured rather than putting a political cap to the visit. So you do not want the NPP members to sleep like the rogue opposition

So pure! Monday, 12 May 2025 05:16 PM
Rogue opposition? So, the NPP guys are so pure and genuine? Could you please ask the erstwhile Speaker to produce his doctorate degree certificate? What about the commission that went into the pocket of the former minister who was in charge of petroleum? Also, when do you plan to bring stolen foreign exchange from Uganda? Further, was the VAT on essential goods and services removed? How about abolishing the perks of former presidents? The rice mafia is still in operation. What happened to the 323 containers under red category classification released? The list is endless. Yeah, the NPP guys are so pristine!!!

NPP MPs are sleeping because they haven't passed a single legislation to improve road safety nor they implemented a single existing road safety measures. Instead they are doing vote hunting. I have seen many Bus trip videos and you could clearly see how these drivers handle the steering wheel with just one hand and drive all over the road and overtake Everyone using the road.

Accidents do happen and in all probability will happen again. Authorities should learn from this and ensure that it will not happen again for the same reason. The visit is nice and show the people that the GOSL do care.
