Sri Lankan cricketer Danushka Gunathilaka who was found not guilty by a Sydney Court on a sexual assault case in Australia, arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) last night. It is noted that he was cleared of the chares brought against him. However was sent and went to represent Sri Lanka. With everything that took place, which is now public knowledge, was he the ambassador that Sri Lanka could be proud of? What was his prior track record off the field? If he returns to cricket it should be solely on merit and not due political interference. There is a photograph of him walking out of the airport today with an entrance board just behind. Hope he was not given undue preferential treatment or even breaking airport rules. After all he is just another citizen and should not be allowed to act above the law.

SLC must be nuts if they allow Dhanushka to represent the country. The players who violates the rules must be punished properly to protect our cricket for the future.

Everyone, Please note that the person who made the allegations, withdrew 3 of the 4 charges. Then, the courts found him not guilty on the remaining charge. Obviously, he has not done anything wrong. Having an intimate relationship with another adult person is not a crime. Whether or not Danishka was representing Sri Lanka in Australia does not matter. After all, can anyone say that the SL team's failure at the T20 world cup was because of Danishka's off the field activities? Respect the Australian judiciary's verdict and leave the guy alone. Welcome back, Danishka.
