Chamber of Commerce – Nuwara Eliya established

In a bid to encourage and enhance exports by businessmen and industry representatives in the Nuwara Eliya District, the Chamber of Commerce – Nuwara Eliya was established last week at the Nuwara Eliya Cooperative Holiday Resort. 

Nuwara Eliya District senior journalist Douglas Nanayakkara has been appointed the founding President of the organisation, whilst M. S. Hussain and M. Irshad have been appointed General Secretary and Treasurer respectively. 

Former CEO of Central Province Chamber of Commerce Ashoka Abeywickrama, Attorney-at-Law and Company Secretary Priyantha Ranasinghe and Assistant Director Nuwara Eliya Small Enterprises Development Division P. G. N. Bandara were among the participants.
