UNP should hire a permanent crew (make them wear UNP gear) to do daily clean up. Win-win for all. Clean beaches, jobs for the people and good publicity for UNP.

The elections around corner so why not show face to say that UNP is doing some work. Be honest to your self and the country that you want to serve.

Absolutely useless exercise! Those who pollute the beach will be watching all those ladies and gents from clubs , societies and organizations who clean beaches . Next day early morning another load will be dumped. Same goes for those residing by canals. Roadside dumping is less now because more eyes are watching them. Usually it is those people who live in unauthorized places and those multiple families who live in a small compound which do these. Sadly because they don’t even have a garden space to keep a bucket. Refuse has to be dumped daily. And can’t keep outside because outside is the walking path or next door house

Main problem in Sri Lanka is there is no garbage bins in public places. So people just drop it everywhere.
