Back to school and back to sportsmeet events

The annual Back to School and Back to Sportsmeet events organized by the Old Boys’ Association of D.S. Senanayake College concluded successfully yesterday, bringing together generations of Senanayakians. The event was graced by distinguished alumni including Sumithra Garments Chairman Jafar Sattar, Senior Additional Solicitor General Sumathi Dharmawardhane, David Wickremaratne Group Chairman Madura Wickremaratne, Hameedia Chairman Hussain Sadique, and former Minister Udaya Gammanpila. A moving tribute was paid to members of the D.S. Senanayake College Baseball Team who lost their lives in the 2008 terrorist attack, as well as to fallen war heroes from the Senanayakian fraternity. Marking a historic first, the Back to Sportsmeet also saw the enthusiastic participation of former teachers and alumni, adding to the spirit of unity and remembrance.
