Do not blame the drainage system. It is the selfish or inconsiderate people amongst us who do not care about keeping the drains clean. They dump all their garbage in the drains and cover them up to get to their properties. Drains are not intended to carry solid waste! The people who could do something about it ride their luxury cars from covered parking to covered parking. They most probably are not even aware that ordinary people has to swim across the flood waters to go about their normal chores. SL really needs a very very good water management system. SL loses a lot of money for corruption and perks for politicians and public servants such as tax free vehicle permits. How about pouring that money to improve things that really matter to people, like drainage systems, flood mitigation and rain water harvesting?. Didn't SL have a severe drought for months until a few days ago and poor farmers lost their crops? Hasn't SL got everything wrong?
