Gulf Air increases Colombo flights to 10 weekly

  •  in response to strong Ramadan travel demand

Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has announced an increase in flight frequencies between Bahrain and Colombo, expanding from daily operations to 10 flights per week effective February 19, 2026.

The enhanced schedule comes in response to heightened travel demand during the upcoming Ramadan and Eid festive season — traditionally a peak period for family reunions, leisure travel and religious journeys.

Operating double daily on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, the additional services are designed to provide greater convenience, flexibility and seamless connectivity for passengers travelling to Bahrain and beyond. Operating through its hub in Bahrain, Gulf Air connects Colombo to an extensive global network spanning the Middle East, Europe and Africa. Travellers from Sri Lanka can enjoy convenient connections to key destinations including London, Paris, Frankfurt, Dubai, Riyadh, Jeddah and more.

Gulf Air continues to deliver a refined onboard experience across its cabin offerings. The Economy Class passengers benefit from comfortable seating, generous baggage allowances, curated inflight meals inspired by regional and international cuisine and a wide range of entertainment options.

Falcon Gold, the airline’s award-winning Business Class product, offers a premium travel experience with flat-bed seats, exclusive lounge access at Bahrain International Airport, priority services, enhanced dining options and personalised hospitality.

Complementing its passenger services, Falcon Cargo provides reliable air freight solutions, facilitating efficient cargo movements between Sri Lanka and global markets. The enhanced schedule also supports cargo capacity, benefiting exporters and businesses requiring timely logistics solutions during the Ramadan period.

The Ramadan and Eid festive season traditionally sees a surge in travel between Sri Lanka and the Gulf region, driven by expatriate communities and holiday travel. By expanding its Colombo services to 10 weekly flights, Gulf Air reinforces its commitment to meeting seasonal demand while maintaining operational excellence and service quality.

Passengers are encouraged to book early to secure preferred travel dates during this peak period through their preferred travel agent or the Gulf Air Sri Lanka Ticketing Office.
