HIPG COO Tissa Wickremasinghe presents a token to French Ambassador Jean-Francois Pactet
Ambassador for France in Sri Lanka Jean-Francois Pactet visited the Hambantota International Port (HIP) recently, for a tour of the port and to explore possible business opportunities for French companies.
HIPG COO Tissa Wickremasinghe met with the embassy delegates and at a discussion with the ambassador, outlined the port’s five core areas of business. He described the current growth experienced by the HIP, especially in the RORO/LPG and oil and gas sectors and the latest introduction of container operations.
The COO said the port was expected to increase bulk cargo volumes by the end of the year. HIPG’s CSR and ESG contributions and future plans were also part of the discussion.
The ambassador was accompanied by Deputy Economic Counsellor Hema Ramachandran and Press Attaché Dinusha Ileperuma. The COO of the HIP presented the ambassador with a token to mark the visit.
