Drive Green Emission Testing Centers mark World Environment Day

The Drive Green Emission Testing Centers, operated by CleanCo Lanka (Pvt) Ltd organized a series of special programmes to mark this year’s World Environment Day, with activities taking place in various parts of the country.

Environmental awareness programmes were conducted in several locations, including Rambukkana, Kurunegala, Agalawatta, Polonnaruwa, and Pallebedda, engaging local communities and promoting sustainable practices. In addition, several environmental cleanup efforts have been scheduled to take place in the days following Poson Poya Day.

Among the initiatives, a Roborosia plant corridor was established along the road reserve near Rambukkana Railway Station, while tree planting activities were carried out along the Agalawatta–Kithulgoda road reserve. At Embilipitiya Pallebedda National School, a fruit garden was created, and fruit plants were distributed to students as a step toward encouraging green habits among the younger generation.

Following Poson Poya, further activities are planned, including the cleaning of both banks of the Polonnaruwa Parakrama Samudra and the Kurunegala Badagamuwa River, with the involvement of both staff members and community partners.

These efforts reflect the commitment of the Drive Green Emission Testing Centers and their teams to fostering environmental responsibility and contributing meaningfully to national sustainability goals.
