01.07.2030 draws foreign buying amid stable yield curve

Investor sentiment remained mixed yesterday, with the yield curve broadly unchanged as market participants continued to assess prevailing market conditions and traded selectively across the curve.

Trading activity was observed across several maturities, with the 15.09.2029, 15.10.2029, and 15.12.2029 all changing hands at 11.25%. The 01.07.2030 maturity stood out, attracting buying interest from foreign investors. Meanwhile, 01.07.2037 maturity was also seen changing hands at 12.70%.

On the external front, the LKR slightly depreciated against the USD, standing at Rs. 336.42/USD, compared to Rs. 336.35/USD seen earlier. Overnight liquidity in the banking system contracted to Rs. 156.54bn from Rs. 175.20bn recorded previously.
