Tesco management visits Hirdaramani Mullaitivu factory

F&F Clothing UK COO Richard Anthony Collins and Tesco HK Director International Sourcing Alison Tania Rose recently joined Tesco Sri Lanka General Manager Azmina Kareem and the Hirdaramani group directors on a site visit of the Hirdaramani factory in Mullaitivu. 

As a company that is committed to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and empowerment, Tesco works closely with its partners to promote socially responsible manufacturing, as such the management of Tesco was keen to see first-hand the impact Hirdaramani has on the community in Mullaitivu. 

Apart from gaining an overview of the facility, the Tesco team also had the opportunity to meet and interact with the employees of the factory and visited Puthukkudiyiruppu Roman Catholic Vidyalaya, which the Hirdaramani group recently refurbished. 

With a long-standing partnership, Tesco and Hirdaramani have collaborated on Tesco’s ‘Buy One Give One’ programme and both companies have donated thousands of uniforms and supplies to schools across Sri Lanka and recently extended the programme to Mullaitivu as well.
