William Angliss Institute @ SLIIT recently hosted a networking and awareness event for media representatives and other stakeholders to provide awareness about the range of courses and programmes offered by the institute whilst also shedding light on the importance of the hospitality and hotel sector in Sri Lanka.
The event took place on November 7, 2023, at William Angliss Institute @ SLIIT, which is located within the SLIIT Malabe premises. The William Angliss Institute @ SLIIT is Sri Lanka’s largest hotel school and is a joint venture between William Angliss Institute (WAI) Australia.
William Angliss Institute @ SLIIT has also partnered with Resplendent Ceylon, the leading luxury hotel operator in Sri Lanka, to unveil The Resplendent Academy by William Angliss Institute at SLIIT. The campus, which will commence operations on November 14, is strategically located at Cape Weligama, a Relais & Chateaux resort and provides students with first-hand exposure to the sector, allowing them the chance to experience a challenging and exciting work environment in the process of learning.
“William Angliss Institute @ SLIIT aims to provide students with the best education and training in this field, equipping them with the skills, knowledge and attitude that are in high demand in the local and international markets. We also offer them a holistic learning experience that includes academic excellence, practical exposure, industry engagement and personal development,” William Angliss Institute @ SLIIT Managing Director Anuk Weerasinghe said.
Participants who were invited to the briefing were first taken on a campus tour around the institute, where they had a chance to experience state-of-the-art facilities and equipment that were made available for their students. This involved getting a glimpse into the institute’s kitchen areas and classrooms where learning sessions are conducted and where students would practice their craft under the guidance of experienced and qualified lecturers. This was then followed by a discussion by members of the head table who shared their insights and updates about the institute, followed by a Q&A session.
