WSO2Con Asia 2025: Special anniversary edition marks 20 years

• Keynotes from WSO2 leadership and Prof. Kishore Mahbubani will explore long-term vision, technical advancement and the future of humanity 

WSO2Con Asia 2025, taking place from July 29-31 in Colombo, will mark a major milestone as WSO2 celebrates its 20th anniversary. 

This special edition of the company’s flagship conference brings together global industry leaders, technology experts and enterprise practitioners for three days of strategic insights and technical learning.

The conference will open with a keynote from WSO2 Founder and CEO Dr. Sanjiva Weerawarana. Titled ‘Journey Towards a Forever Company’, the session will focus on the principles and strategies involved in building long-lasting technology organisations. It will explore WSO2’s approach to sustainable growth, product leadership and community building over the past two decades.

This will be followed by a keynote from WSO2 Senior Vice President and Chief Solutions Officer Mifan Careem titled ‘Twenty Years of Innovation, Scale, and Impact’. His talk will provide a retrospective on WSO2’s evolution—from its roots in open-source development to becoming a trusted platform provider for modernisation across governments, banks, telcos and large enterprises globally.

Among other keynotes, National University of Singapore Asia Research Institute Distinguished Fellow Prof. Kishore Mahbubani will discuss the ‘Future of Humanity’, examining the structural forces shaping global pessimism, such as geopolitical competition, climate change and economic fragmentation. The talk will also explore countervailing trends that point toward optimism—particularly the rise of Asian civilisations, the growing demand for multilateralism and a generational shift toward cooperation in addressing shared global challenges.

Apart from the keynote presentations, over the three days, WSO2 experts will host a series of technical sessions, tailored for developers, architects and technology leaders. Key areas of focus will include API management and integration best practices for modern enterprise architecture, cloud-native development using the latest capabilities in WSO2’s tech Choreo, Asgardeo and Ballerina, AI-driven enhancements that improve developer productivity, security and user experience across the WSO2 platform and identity and access management strategies that support personalisation and privacy at scale.

The attendees will gain practical knowledge through deep-dive tracks, interactive labs and real-world case studies from organisations across the globe. WSO2Con Asia 2025 is designed to provide a comprehensive view of where enterprise modernisation is headed—from platform-level innovations to broader questions about sustainability, longevity and collaboration in the digital era.
