Venkadeshwara Agro Industry (VAI) operates within the first industrial estate in post war Sri Lanka, the Atchchuveli Industrial Estate, which is located within close proximity to the KKS Harbour and Palaly Airport,
VAI was founded in 2001 by entrepreneur, oil and fat industry specialist Dr. Kanagasingham Suganthon.
VAI specializes in manufacturing premium RBD oils (palm olein, Coconut, Rice Bran) and Premium Coconut Oil.
The company has expanded its range to Bakery Products such as Premium Cake Margarine and Compounds (Cakes, Bread and Buns), Pan Lubricants and Vegetable Ghee. It also produces several byproducts such as Palm Free Fatty Acids, Coconut Free Fatty Acid, Rice Free Fatty Acids, Rice Bran Wax, Animal Feed (DORB) and Palm Stearin.
VAI has gained international standards of excellence in quality and safety ISO 9001:2015, HACCP and GMP. The company has transformed the production process by integrating green energy solutions, boilers powered by agro-based material and 1MW rooftop solar, thereby driving an eco-friendly and sustainable evolution within the industry.
“We are excited about the prospect of becoming the 1st entity incorporated and operating in the Northern Province to be listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange, and we have appointed Corporate Finance Advisor Atarah Capital as Manager to the IPO, said Suganthon Managing Director.
“We remain committed to ensuring the company consistently delivers premium products to consumers whilst contributing to the economic development of the Northern region”, Suganthon added.
