The private sector stakeholders yesterday congratulated Harin Fernando on his appointment as the new Tourism and Lands Minister.
In a brief statement to the media, the Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators (SLAITO) and One Industry One Voice welcomed the appointment of Fernando.
“We are confident that he will work towards the betterment of the industry and with his experience and knowledge help us to revive the industry,” the associations said in a joint statement shortly after Fernando was appointed as the minister for the struggling industry that is in dire need for improved support and assistance for revival.
