Thai Sumeda wins ‘Business of the Year 2026’ Award for Manufacturing Excellence

Thai Sumeda Enterprises Pvt Ltd, one of Sri Lanka’s pioneering manufacturers and distributors of incense sticks and related products, has once again earned international recognition by winning the ‘Business of the Year 2026’ Award in the Large Category for manufacturing incense products. The award was presented by the BWIO (USA–Sri Lanka) Council in recognition of the company’s outstanding contribution to the manufacturing sector and export industry.

The “Business World International Awards Ceremony 2026” was held recently at the Mount Lavinia Hotel with the participation of several distinguished guests, business leaders, and diplomats.

Accepting the award on behalf of the company, Sumeda Elpitiya, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Thai Sumeda Enterprises, expressed his gratitude for the recognition and acknowledged the dedication and commitment of the company’s employees, stakeholders, and customers. Thai Sumeda Enterprises has received several similar accolades over the years, further strengthening its reputation as an industry leader.

The award was presented by Badli Hisham Adam, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Sri Lanka and Maldives, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
