Tech Cargo Hub hosts strategic industry dialogue on future of warehousing

Tech Cargo Hub (TCH), Sri Lanka’s leading digital warehousing and logistics solutions provider, hosted a high-impact industry conference recently, to unveil its newest venture TCH 2, a 20,000 sq. ft. smart warehouse designed to power the future of logistics in the region.

Held at TCH 1, the event brought together industry leaders from freight forwarding, retail and supply chain tech to discuss a shared challenge: how to digitalise warehousing in a market long reliant on manual processes.

TCH, already known for launching Sri Lanka’s fully digital warehouse (TCH 1), is now doubling down on its mission. With the launch of TCH 2, the company expands its offering to include ASN-based planning, SKU-level tracking, CargoWise-integrated operations, Intelligence dashboards and end-to-end inventory visibility.

“Digitisation gives us the tools to make an immediate impact, even in small ways,” said Ikraam Reyaz, CEO of SFL Tech — the technology service provider and advisor for TCH — during his keynote.

“More importantly, we’ve seen how those small changes can scale.”

TCH’s leadership team, including General Manager Fawaaz Jishty, Head of Projects Umar Haroon and Business Development Lead Husni Uwise, delivered a deep dive into the company’s operational model. They highlighted how TCH simplifies backend complexity for logistics partners by offering true plug-and-play warehousing: digitised inventory control, real-time tracking, cross-docking, pick and pack services and live analytics, all under one roof. The event then moved into a high-impact panel discussion, kicking off with a clear message: digitalisation isn’t just an upgrade; it’s now a driver of competitiveness — strengthening Sri Lanka’s economic backbone and cementing its role in the global supply chain.

Moderated by CEO Ikraam Reyaz, the panel featured Daraz COO Sajid Suhile, UTE CAT Sri Lanka CEO Deepthi Hewageegana, Aramex Country MD Sanjaya Samarasinghe and TNPSFL Strategic Partner SFL Tech CEO Raja Ratandeep.

From data-led visibility to tech-enabled scalability, they cut through industry noise to surface real operational pain points and actionable solutions. Ratandeep called for innovation beyond replication: “We’ve spent too long just doing, not thinking. If we want to build a resilient logistics backbone, we need to re-engineer, not just replicate.”

Hewageegana emphasised the need for solution-oriented selling: “We need to act like consultants. Clients don’t need more options; they need solutions.” Samarasinghe spoke to the gaps in data readiness: “AI and automation only work if the foundation is strong. Without structured data, tech can’t deliver.”

Suhile closed with a practical note on scale: “You don’t need to build it all yourself. With partners like TCH and platforms like Daraz, sellers can scale without chaos.”
