Jeevan Gnanam – Executive Director, St Anthony’s Group and Anil Amarasuriya – Director, Jinasena (Pvt) Ltd signs MOU to expand reach
Two of the country’s largest family owned business groups Jinasena Ltd and St. Anthony’s Industries Group (Pvt) Ltd recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that would enable each other to utilize key competencies acquired over time, in their individual industrial value chains for mutual benefit.
These two organizations with rich local heritage, global outlook and cutting edge business acumen has come in to this MOU as a strategic move and a timely effort to combine the distribution networks of the both groups to reach a wider consumer and customer base position their products across the country.
St. Anthony’s Industries Group has one of the most experienced and time tested distribution networks in the construction industry with thorough coverage to all corners of Sri Lanka, including the North and the East. On the other hand Jinasena Company owns and operates an island-wide showroom network, with the exception of the North and the East provinces. Both companies that are keen total solution providers to their valued clientele, had identified each organizations key attributes and Strategy in terms of achieving customer convenience and decided to further strengthen the friendship that has been there within these two prominent business families to a business partnership.
St. Anthony’s Industries Group (Pvt) Ltd, the manufacturers and marketers of ‘Anton’ brand of uPVC, HDPE, CPVC pipes and fittings is an organization that has stood the test of time. Since inception in 1958, for close to 06 decades, the Organization & Anton has won the hearts and trust of Sri Lankan consumers. In addition to Anton branded pipes & fittings, St. Anthony’s Group are manufacturers of Max, Dolphin Water Tanks, Ultima uPVC Doors, uPVC Windows & Doors, BioCell Waste Water Treatment solutions, Polar Insulation foils, Net-Z PVC Netting for different applications & Azure Water purification units. Anton as the company is more fondly remembered and recalled by Sri Lankans were the pioneers in local manufacturing of most products and solutions they offer.
On the other hand, Jinasena Limited counting 110+ years in operation, was the first Ceylonese owned engineering company – and by 1932, it was rated among the five leading engineering companies in the island. In 1950, the son of the founder T. S. Jinasena designed and manufactured the first Jinasena Centric Water Pump. The range of water pumps, tractors, threshers, reapers, choppers and weeders really began to make their presence felt when the brand quickly gained the trust of the rural Sri Lankan farmer, who is traditionally extremely skeptical about
the mechanization of time-tried methods.
As per guidelines set out in the MOU, Anton will now distribute Jinasena water pumps and domestic pressure pumps to deserving customers spread across the Northern and the Eastern Provinces of the Island, whilst Jinasena would provide a total solution to their walk in customers at Jinasena showrooms, that would include uPVC, CPVC cold and hot water pipes and fittings, Max Triple Water Tanks and ball valves etc.
