Sri Lanka’s largest engineering exhibition ‘EngEX 2025’ launched

University of Peradeniya’s Faculty of Engineering in partnership with SLT Mobitel as the title partner, officially launched EngEX 2025, Sri Lanka largest and most ambitious engineering exhibition, scheduled to be held between September 23 -27 at the university premises. 

On the event of the 75th anniversary of the Faculty of Engineering, the Diamond Jubilee Exhibition will be set up with the theme of Engineering for Life where academia, industry leaders, young innovators, and the general populace will meet to celebrate excellence in engineering as well as inspire even the subsequent generations.

The five-day expo will take over a 15-acre space with specific areas on artificial intelligence, machine learning, newer technologies in the field of construction, and sustainability. Organizers anticipate more than 50,000 participants that include professionals, students, investors, and academia, in addition to the general public. Moreover, technical forums, interactive demonstrations, and industry partnerships will occur during the event that will enhance the interface or gap between academia and industry.

Emphasizing the role of SLT Mobitel, CEO Janaka Abeysinghe stated, “SLT Mobitel is proud to be the title partner of ENGEX 2025. Innovation is our responsibility towards the country, and when we invest in young engineers and innovators, we are also investing in Sri Lanka’s future. ENGEX 2025 symbolizes something truly unique, a platform where Sri Lanka’s brightest engineering minds come together to show us what tomorrow looks like.”

He also highlighted that SLT Mobitel will roll out full-featured connectivity services such as 5G, high-performance Wi-Fi, and fiber to enable real-time participant engagement, data transferring communicative presentations, and interactive displays. “We are taking our full manufacturing expertise to ENGEX 2025, in order to provide participants and visitors to the event a first-hand glimpse of the telecommunication technologies that drive the future of engineering in Sri Lanka,” he added.

Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Lilantha Samaranayake, said, “This exhibition marks 75 years of unwavering commitment to engineering excellence. Our goal is to ignite curiosity in school children and inspire the next generation of engineers. ENGEX 2025 will be the largest exhibition of its kind in Sri Lanka.”

He also showed his appreciation to the support given by industry, with partnerships with Tokyo Cement Group (Exclusive Cement Partner), Melwa Conglomerate Pvt. Ltd. (Exclusive Steel Partner) and Elephant House (Exclusive Food and Beverage Partner), Asiri Hospital Holdings Ltd. (Official Healthcare Partner) and media partners Sirasa, Shakthi and YTV.

EngEX 2025 tickets will be sold on the Internet, including schoolchildren with special registration. Organizers invited everyone, students, and professionals to engage exhibiting that the world of creativity is a place of not only celebrating past successes but also a platform of future contributions.
