Softlogic Life  completes  acquisition of Allianz Life

Softlogic Life Insurance PLC (SLL) has finalised its acquisition of 100 percent of Allianz Life Insurance Lanka Limited from German insurance giant Allianz SE. p

The transaction, first announced to the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) on March 26, 2025, received the crucial approval of the Insurance Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (IRCSL) on July 2, 2025, with Softlogic Life confirming completion in  disclosure to the CSE last week. This acquisition represents a major strategic leap for Softlogic Life, a subsidiary of the diversified Softlogic Group. Acquiring the well-established Allianz Lanka brand provides significant advantages, including a substantial boost to Softlogic Life’s customer base and policy portfolio, consolidating its dominance in Sri Lanka’s life insurance sector. 

The deal also grants access to Allianz Lanka’s product suite and expertise, expands Softlogic’s distribution network through integration of Allianz’s agency force, and offers potential for operational synergies and cost efficiencies through increased economies of scale.
