Samson Logistics (Pvt.) Ltd (SamsonLines), a subsidiary of DSI Samson Group, in a strategic move to transform into a fully-integrated third-party logistics (3PL) provider, has appointed Rushdi Zackariya to its board of directors, effective immediately.

This appointment marks a pivotal step in the company’s long-term vision to expand its service portfolio beyond freight forwarding and establish itself as a comprehensive logistics solutions provider. The announcement comes at a time where Sri Lanka is seeing significant sustained growth in e-commerce as well as a growing hub for South Asia.

SamsonLines, the logistics arm of DSI Samson Group, has built a strong reputation over two decades as one of Sri Lanka’s fastest-growing logistics companies. While its core expertise lies in air and sea freight forwarding, the company is now actively evolving into a 3PL organisation – offering value-added services such as on and offshore logistics, warehousing, storage and distribution, customs brokerage, supply chain consultancy and end-to-end logistics management.

“I am honoured and excited to join the board as a Director at this pivotal time in the SamsonLines’ growth journey,” noted Zackariya.

“The company’s strong foundation in logistics positions it perfectly to evolve into a fully-fledged 3PL service provider. I look forward to contributing strategic insights that will help expand our capabilities in value added services, warehousing, last-mile delivery and integrated logistics solutions to better serve our clients in today’s dynamic market.”

Zackariya heads the company’s evolution, bringing in 30+ years of leadership experience in regional logistics and a deep understanding of supply chain ecosystems and market dynamics across South Asia, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. His previous leadership roles include Expo Group, TAS Group (Bangladesh), Biomass Group (Singapore), Bharti Airtel (Sri Lanka and India), Innowave Group and Aitken Spence PLC. He currently also serves as Commercial Director of HASCO Group in Saudi Arabia.

“We are confident that Rushdi’s extensive experience, strategic foresight and global perspective will be vital in steering SamsonLines into its next chapter,” stated SamsonLines Managing Director Nelani Rajapaksa.

“His leadership will aid to bridge the gap between traditional freight forwarding and modern 3PL solutions.”
